All Indigenous Nations Ribbon Skirt Kit - North American Shipping Included

CA$145.00
sold out

To Purchase a kit, please visit https://www.indigenousnouveau.com/shop/p/all-indigenous-nations-ribbon-skirt-kit

I will no longer be selling kits through the Ribbon Skirt Project, but exclusively on my website, Indigenous Nouveau.

** Currently, all ribbon skirt kits are pre-order. This means that your fabric will be ordered specifically for your kit and shipped out when I receive your fabric. Please anticipate a shipping time of between 2 and 3 weeks for your order. Thank you so much for your understanding. ***

A full Ribbon Skirt Kit with everything you need to complete your very own straight skirt in any size up to 55”, along with instructions to do so and resources for further community connection.

I would like to provide these kits to all Nations, but do not presume to teach or share any knowledge or traditions that are not my own. The PDF that is currently available is not Nation-specific and does not touch on the teachings of the Ribbon Skirt, though the Metis specific version is coming very soon. (This particular kit’s PDF will include stories, history and language particular to the Métis and our own history surrounding the ribbon skirt.)

$10 from the sale of every PDF goes to support more pro-bono kits through www.theribbonskirtproject.ca to distribute to Indigenous Individuals in need of connection to their community and suffering from isolation due to COVID, geography and financial difficulty.

Each Kit includes:

  • 2 Meters of Indigenous Nouveau Organic Cotton Fabric, ecologically printed in Canada, Manufactured in North America

  • 3 three colours of ribbon (110” of each colour), If you would like to purchase additional ribbons for your kit, please email me after your purchase.

  • Colour-coordinated thread

  • Tailor’s Chalk

  • One large safety pin

  • Glue stick

  • 1 meter of elastic waistband

  • Recycled Cotton bag

  • PDF Download instructions to be emailed after purchase

Not included in each kit, you will need:

  • Sewing machine, and basic knowledge of its function

  • Iron

  • Scissors

  • Lighter

Each kit comes with the ribbons you see in the photos, but every so often I may run out of a particular colour or width. If this is the case, I will contact you prior to shipping.
